Four decades,
rooted in North Idaho
Apple Creek Propagators was founded by John and Rosalyn Driedger in 1987 and has grown cold-hardy nursery stock in Bonners Ferry, Idaho ever since. Over nearly four decades it became known across the interior West for improved, carefully selected plant material and a signature peony program.
Today Apple Creek is a division of Outdoor by Design, the Liermann family’s North Idaho nursery and landscaping company. The ground, the growing team, and the standards behind the name all stay in place, now paired with the larger field-grown trees that Outdoor by Design raises at its Naples nursery. Read our story ›
Three forms,
one source
Our nursery now grows and sells in all three forms. Whether you pot on your own stock, need field-grown trees balled and ready to set, or want containers on demand, you can source every form from one North Idaho nursery.
Bare Root
Lifted dormant from the field and held in our coolers, then sold through the spring. The most economical form, and a favorite of growers who pot on their own stock or replant into fields.
Balled & Burlapped
Field grown and dug to order on our spring and fall digs, never over-dug just for stock. This is where our larger, field-hardened trees stand apart, grown with the space and time the coast cannot match.
Container
Grown in pots from one gallon up to fifteen gallon and ready to ship any time, even mid-summer. The most flexible option when a landscaper is working to a project timeline rather than a dig season.
